Why swap great work
Each Great Musician may be activated up to two times on a tile containing an empty slot which accepts Great Works of Music such as a Theater Square district with a Broadcast Center, a Palace, or suitable wonder , creating up to two Great Works of Music. Each Great Writer may be activated up to two times on a tile containing a free slot which accepts Great Works of Writing such as a Theater Square district with an Amphitheater, a Palace, or suitable wonder , creating up to two Great Works of Writing.
Great Works are used by placing them in appropriate buildings, where they can be accessed by the public. Whenever you produce a Great Work, it is automatically placed in the appropriate slot available in the nearest city.
Civs with unique tile improvements generally favour a more dispersed empire in order to make use of them, as do civs focused on wonder construction. This is also easy — just open the Swap Great Works tab in the Tourism Overview screen, choose one of your Works in the swapping slot above, then the Work you want to swap for from the list below. Get that completed and then move on to the 2 pieces of art paintings, specifically and get those from 2 other Civs.
I tend to have no problem remembering what Civilizations I already have, just keep in mind the eras I do not have. Just do it in steps. Overall I agree with your assessment that it is clumsy and wish it had a more hands-off approach, in that artworks should go into the building that will get the most Tourism automatically. Sadly, you've just gotta go back and forth between those two screens. It's almost like Theming is a secret known only to a percentage of players because of this.
Wish I could be more helpful, but once I got used to the interface and established what I needed to remember, it was a non-issue for me. Wonders take priority for theming, then museums, and I don't worry about any art that is in a building that doesn't have theming - it is just a holding place for swapping things around to get Theming Bonuses.
You will need to have another one spawn so you can make a great work to trade. Kura says At first this confused me, but I loaded my game and see that you are correct. I edited the entry on Museums' Theming Bonus to fix that omission. However, like most resources in Civilization 6 , civilizations can trade Great Works with each other.
With Civilization 6 players that want to get as much tourism as possible wanting as many Great Works as possible, some may wonder if it's a good idea to trade one for another. Players may also wonder if it's a good idea to trade a Great Work for gold or resources. When trading, there are many different variables that affect whether or not it's a good idea to trade certain things away. As long as players act smart about their trades, they can make any trade benefit themselves. Certain Great Works cause tourism benefits depending on how the museum is themed.
Certain Wonders need items from different Civs to get a theming bonus. Louvre is the best example. Without Swapping or conquering , you'll never get its bonus. The Great Library's bonus might also be for different Civs. Ulthwithian , Jul 10, Is there a thread explaining this I'm playing my first game and I can see where I can swap them. But I have no clue what I should do.
In the cultural overview screen, if you have a wonder or Museum, if you hover over the space next to the place to put the artifacts I'm pretty sure there's a 0 there if you have no theming bonus , it will tell you exactly what you need to have to get the bonus. Last night, I built the Lourve, this requires 2 artifacts and 2 great works of art all from different civs and different eras.
I had a Shoshone industrial era painting, and a Moroccan ancient artifact. So, since I was the first to get dig sites, no one else could trade with me for artifacts you can only swap of the same kind, and you cant swap music
